Renewal of the Association Agreement is one of Ukraine's priorities, which is an important question on the agenda of the Ukraine-EU Summit that will take place in October.
"We should move towards full liberalization of all four freedoms (of goods, capital, services, and labour - ed.). In this context Ukraine is preparing for the Summit and for the Association Council, which will consolidate the agreement of the Summit," said Olga Stefanishyna, the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, during the interview with "European Pravda".
In particular, it might be about updating all annexes, as well as the Trade part. The tariff quotas will also be negotiated with the EU. Among other priorities in the framework of further dialogue with EU Olga Stefanishyna named:
a resumption of the dialogue concerning signing a Common Aviation Area Agreement;
the preparation for EU evaluation mission, which is necessary to assess the “homework” done, in order to start the negotiations on the signing the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA);
the integration into the EU Digital Single Market. Ukraine looks forward to updating key annexes to the Agreement in this sphere, as well as approving a roadmap for Ukraine's integration into the EU Digital Single Market.
"Another priority is the implementation of the Agreement in the field of sanitary and phytosanitary measures. Ukraine has already done a lot of work there, European standards are already in force in many areas, and I would like to move in the direction of automation, recognition of the equivalence of our and European sanitary control," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
